GAP'S ROLE

  • Global Advance Projects (GAP) serves as the first point of contact for individuals trafficked for forced criminality, particularly those returning from Myanmar to Thailand.

  • When victims of human trafficking arrive in Mae Sot, our organization provides immediate assistance, including recovery from smuggler drop-off sites, temporary accommodation, food, medical care, and trauma-informed debriefing.

  • We offer 48 to 72 hours of care, during which we present available options to each individual, assist with prescreening under the National Referral Mechanism, or help prepare victims for self-reporting to the Thai immigration department.

  • We collaborate closely with relevant embassies to provide support, information, and recommendations for their citizens.

‘Recovery to Repatriation’ is our motto regarding the rescue and care for victims of human trafficking. Not only do we assist in their rescues but we walk them through the victim identification process and options for repatriation to their home countries.
