About

Our Mission

To give individuals and communities an opportunity to advance themselves, we aim to initiate lasting change for people in crisis, poverty, and emotional hardship by ‘Bridging the GAP’ to education, business and entrepreneurship and sustainable relief and development, and to provide emergency relief and shelter to needy peoples who are in immediate need without prejudice.

Our Vision

To work for the relief of needy persons in Australia and overseas who are in poverty or are suffering distress, destitution, sickness or misfortune regardless of age, sex, ethnic background, religion, political beliefs or marital status.

We at Global Advance Projects hold firm to the belief that education is a key element in bridging the gap from poverty to stability. Education, whether academic or trade studies, is our top priority for all youth at GAP. When we provide education, we are actively building the bridge to a brighter future.

According to UNICEF's ‘The State of Global Learning Poverty 2022 Update,’ “the pandemic has caused a learning crisis globally.” Increased instability in neighboring Myanmar has also decimated education standards, greatly enhancing the need for quality education providers in our area. GAP works to make education accessible by offering boarding facilities for students who attend local Thai schools, and an international schooling program for those who do not fit into the Thai system. We have had the privilege of seeing many of our students graduate year 12, university, and trade schools, and it is our plan to create many more graduates in the future.

GAP leaders believe in building strong bonds with the young people in our care. It is imperative that we create an environment where trust grows. Drawing from our experiences, past and present, we are able to give back to the next generation by guiding and helping them tap into their own dreams, desires, talents, and abilities. GAP leaders understand the cultural, economic, and social complexities that create barriers to success. We mentor our youth from a position of support and encouragement, as well as structure and discipline. This creates an environment of safety and certainty from which students can explore their potential futures.

GAP believes we can be better together. On the ground in Thailand, staff and students alike are strengthened by our various local communities. We both draw from and contribute toward community development for the betterment of all. Across the globe, GAP is made possible by international supporters, and we use this support base to impact others.

GAP cares for the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental health of all its family members. We do this by listening to the needs of others and observing all members in our family. When the primary care factors are met, we look to go deeper and care for the heart of each person. By individualizing our care objectives, we are able to respond more effectively to the needs of each individual.

At GAP we strive to say ‘yes’ to emergency relief. It’s often risky and complex to assist in refugee crises, situations concerning war, and human trafficking issues. But by responding to urgent needs, we set an example that love takes action and model care for humanity for the leaders of tomorrow.

‘Recovery to Repatriation’ is our motto regarding the rescue and care for victims of human trafficking. Not only do we assist in their rescues but we walk them through the victim identification process and options for repatriation to their home countries.

“Family” is how we see ourselves first and foremost. We stray away from all other labels as we relate to the word family the most. We care about and love those in our home; everyone has a place and is valued. No one is an orphan or an outsider. Family is our heartbeat and we operate with an adoptive attitude.
